Bald Eagle
(Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

The bald eagle, the national bird of the United States, has made an incredible return from near extinction some 35 years ago. Increasing in numbers, bald eagles can now be found in 45 states. Bald eagles are migratory birds that gather in large groups early each winter to catch salmon as they move upstream to spawn.
