Rainbow Trout
(Oncorhynchus mykiss)

Rainbow trout are an important food source now farmed in large quantities as well as found in the wild. Most rainbow trout found in the wild are stocked fish. Some trout spend part of their lives in the sea.

In the spring, female trout makes a nest in a stream and lays her eggs which are fertilized and covered over by the male.
